Titans RB Derrick Henry on verge of hitting more milestones in Week 10

Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry hasn’t skipped a beat this season.

He’s currently fifth in the NFL in rushing yards while also ranking inside the top five in overall grade (88.6), pass-blocking grade (87.0), receiving grade (81.8) and run grade (83.4), per Pro Football Focus.

And he’s done all that while facing stacked boxes more frequently than any other ball carrier in the NFL (42.34 percent), per Next Gen Stats.

Having the kind of production Henry has had over the last six seasons has led to the star running back being on the verge of accomplishing some historic milestones, as well.

Henry needs just 64 rushing yards to become the 38th player in NFL history to reach 9,000 for his legendary career. Adding to that, the Alabama product will become just the eighth player in NFL history to record at least 9,000 rushing yards and 80 rushing touchdowns before their 30th birthday.

Those are some impressive numbers for any ball carrier, but they become otherworldly when you remember that Henry didn’t even become a full-time starter until halfway through the 2018 campaign, his third season in the NFL.

Aside from those milestones, the former Offensive Player of the Year can also tie Earl Campbell for the most 100-yard rushing games in franchise history with 40, and he can move into a tie for 17th all time in rushing touchdowns with 83 if he scores one.

Two rushing touchdowns would give him sole possession of 17th place, and three rushing touchdowns would put him in a tie for 16th place with Marshawn Lynch.

We’ve officially reached the point in Henry’s career where he will start to regularly hit historical marks as long as he stays healthy.

There’s no telling where he’ll end up when it’s all said and done, but Titans fans should (and will) cherish and appreciate the fact that we’re legitimately watching one of the greatest running backs ever who is still producing at a ridiculously high level.
