The Tennessee Titans are reportedly set to promote one of their 2023 undrafted free-agent signings to the active roster.
Per Ryan Fowler of The Draft Network, Tennessee is signing defensive end TK McLendon JR. from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.
A corresponding move won’t be necessary after the team waived fellow defensive lineman Naquan Jones on Tuesday.
Signed after the 2023 NFL draft, McLendon failed to make the Titans’ 53-man roster out of training camp but was brought back on the practice squad, where he’s remained since. He has yet to be elevated for a game this season.
After two years at LSU, McLendon transferred to Eastern Kentucky in 2021, where he switched positions from tight end to defensive end. As a senior in 2022, the 6-foot-4, 275-pound lineman totaled 58 tackles (11.5 for loss), six sacks, two passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
McLendon has a chance to make his NFL debut as soon as Sunday, when the Titans travel to Raymond James Stadium to take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
