Titans’ projected 2022 cap space after 2021 rollover amount revealed

The Tennessee Titans have roughly $2.8 million in unused cap space from the 2021 season that will be rolled over into their 2022 salary cap once the figure is confirmed by the league.

In December, it was announced that the 2022 NFL salary cap number will be about $208.2 million. If we add Tennessee’s rollover amount, it leaves the Titans with an adjusted salary cap of roughly $211 million.

Taking that into account, Over the Cap estimates that Tennessee will have around $7.3 million in cap space going into the offseason.

As things currently stand, the Titans have 40 players under contract for 2022. That amount of space won’t be enough for Tennessee to fill out its roster, but the Titans can add to their cap space by making cuts and/or restructures, and they can get creative with how they dole out contracts like they did in 2021.

The legal tampering period for free agency will begin on March 14, but players can’t officially start signing with teams until the start of the new league year, which is on March 16 at 4 p.m. ET.
