Titans’ NFL draft history with No. 41 overall pick

After going over the Tennessee Titans’ draft history with the No. 11 overall pick they have in 2023, we’re moving on to taking a look back at what the franchise has done with its 2023 second-round pick at No. 41.

We’ll continue going through the Titans’ own draft history with each of their current picks, but we’ve already covered every pick made by the Titans and other teams in each of Tennessee’s 2023 spots since 2000. The links to those articles are located at the bottom of this one.

No. 41 is a spot the Titans have chosen from three times before, with two of those selections coming since the team moved to Tennessee. Unfortunately, there is also tragedy associated with a player drafted in this spot.

Without further ado, a look at the three previous selections the Titans have made at No. 41 overall, one of their six picks in the 2023 NFL draft.

1990: DT Jeff Alm, Notre Dame

Alm served in a reserve role over his four years with the Houston Oilers, appearing in 44 games (eight starts). Tragically, Alm committed suicide in 1993 following a DUI car accident that took the life of his friend.

2005: OT Michael Roos, Eastern Washington

Syndication: Nashville

Roos spent all 10 of his seasons with the Titans, notching one Pro Bowl and All-Pro nod apiece — both of which came in 2008 — and he remains one of the better offensive linemen in Titans history.

The franchise’s next No. 41 overall pick might have something to say about it eventually, but right now Roos is no doubt the Titans’ best pick in this spot in team history.

2018: OLB Harold Landry

Landry took a step back in 2020, as did much of Tennessee’s defense, but the Boston College product went on to tally a career-high 12 sacks and aided in the team’s defensive revival in 2021, which also helped him secure his first Pro Bowl nod.

The Titans rewarded Landry with a five-year, $87.5 million contract in 2022, but the edge rusher missed the entire campaign due to a torn ACL. Landry remains an integral part of the defense.
