Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel officially confirmed on Thursday the news that fans everywhere were hoping for regarding their talented second-year wide receiver, Treylon Burks.
Burks’ unfortunate knee injury was described as a “best-case scenario” by the Titans head coach, although he did not say specifically what the 23-year-old is dealing with.
However, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, we do know that the Arkansas product suffered a sprained LCL, which is expected to sideline him a few weeks.
“I don’t think it’s going to be a long-term thing,” Vrabel revealed, per ESPN’s Turron Davenport. “[There was] no structural damage and we’re anticipating him being back. I’m not putting a timeline on it, but I think it was the best-case scenario.”
Obviously, you never want to see anybody get hurt in any capacity, but had that injury been worse, it would’ve legitimately been a gut punch to Burks himself, and the team as a whole.
“I think [Burks is] relieved,” Vrabel added. “I think when you have that type of thing and you feel something, I think [you feel] relief. We’ll rehab him and I know he’ll work hard to get back. And when he’s ready to come back out, he’ll help us.”
