If you peruse Tennessee Titans social media for just five seconds, you will find no shortage of not-so-nice tweets (or X’s, whatever) about the team.
And, to be quite frank, most of that is well-deserved, as the Titans have been a mess through six games of the 2023 campaign, with Tennessee starting out 2-4 and experiencing some ugly losses along the way.
There is no question at least some players and even coaches check out social media and read those tweets, no matter how painful. We also know the families of players read said tweets, as Kristian Fulton’s dad proved.
Titans head coach Mike Vrabel recently admitted he has read “mean tweets” about himself and players during a team meeting in the past. This apparently occurred in 2021, when Tennessee won 12 games.
“Maybe I’ll read the mean tweets,” Vrabel said, per FOX Sports’ Ben Arthur. “I’ll read all the funny stuff that they say about us or me specifically. Did that one year and I think we ended up winning 12 games. ‘This coach sucks. This guy stinks.’ Ended up having a different tune. The guys all laughed about it.”
At this point, anything is worth a shot for a Titans team that is floundering. And, who knows, your tweet might be the one of the ones that saves the Titans’ season.
