Titans hosted Princeton OL Henry Byrd for a workout

The Tennessee Titans are unsurprisingly doing their homework on a bevy of offensive lineman ahead of the 2023 NFL draft, and Princeton’s Henry Byrd is reportedly among them.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Tennessee hosted Byrd for a workout, as did the Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers and New Orleans Saints. Byrd also had a visit with the Minnesota Vikings.

For more on 6-foot-5, 312-pound tackle, we turn to Arif Hasan of Pro Football Network:

A multi-sport athlete — including tap dance and lacrosse — Henry Byrd demonstrates rare body awareness for an OT prospect who wasn’t invited to the NFL Combine. After starting early in his career at tackle, Byrd continued to play high-level football for the Ivy program before finishing in 2022 with unanimous all-conference recognition for his play.

With that comes an athletic frame, including a 4.67-second short shuttle and 32 bench reps. Byrd is a high-ceiling player that could hear his name on Day 3.

An offer for Titans fans

Byrd is decent in pass protection but excels in run-blocking and has the kind of athleticism that makes him a good fit for Tennessee’s offensive scheme, assuming it remains similar or the same under new OC Tim Kelly.

If the Titans are looking for an offensive tackle with some upside late in this draft, Byrd should be around on Day 3.
