The Tennessee Titans held a Zoom meeting with Troy defensive tackle Shakel Brown ahead of the 2023 NFL draft.
The news comes from Aaron Wilson of Click2Houston, who also reports the meeting was with the Titans’ defensive line coach, Terrell Williams.
Brown has also met with the Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Rams, New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers. The Miami Dolphins also brought him in for a workout.
In 2022, Brown had his best season after playing in a career-high 13 games. He had 32 total tackles (six for loss), four sacks, one pass defensed and one fumble forced and recovered.
Also per Wilson, the 6-foot-4, 295-pound lineman impressed during his Pro Day last month. His 30 bench-press reps would have ranked second among defensive linemen at the NFL combine, and he posted a 4.82 40 and 4.44 short shuttle, the latter of which would’ve been tops, as well.

athletic defensive tackle Shakel Brown eye-popping Pro Day creating stir with #NFLDraft2023 scouts: At 6-4, 295, benched 30 reps, would have ranked second among DTs at combine, ran 4.82 40. Assuming Teair Tart returns on his restricted free agent tender, which he has yet to sign, the Titans don’t have a big need upfront going into 2023, but with Tart and Denico Autry set to be free agents in 2024, a pick at the position is possible.
