The addition of Anderson may signal that defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons is out. Going into the weekend, he was doubtful with an elbow injury. A late training camp addition, Anderson made the most of his opportunity, as was quickly re-signed to the practice squad after being one of the final cuts.
While he is not Simmons, Anderson does have some experience. In his career, he has eight starts in 33 appearances, accumulating 54 tackles and 2.5 sacks with the Bears, Commanders, Falcons, Packers and Vikings.
With Chidobe Awuzie on injured reserve and L’Jarius Sneed battling a hamstring injury, the Titans needed some cornerback depth and called up a familiar face. Avery, who is in his third season with the Titans, has played in 29 games with five starts during that time.
This is the first elevation of 2024 for both Anderson and Avery.
