The Tennessee Titans have been silent in addressing one of their biggest needs at wide receiver so far this offseason, so it comes as no surprise Tennessee’s current group is among the cheapest in the NFL.
NFL analyst Warren Sharp crunched the numbers recently and the Titans have the second-cheapest wide receivers room in the NFL, with the team spending around $8 million on the position as things currently stand.
The only team with a cheaper group of wideouts is the Green Bay Packers ($5.5 million). Here’s a look at the receivers Tennessee has under contract and their respective cap hits, per Spotrac.

When looking at that group, it’s crystal clear the Titans need to make some moves if they want to avoid the disaster that was 2022 at the position.
Tennessee should be adding at least one veteran and one draft pick, but the team’s options for the latter have dwindled considerably with several of the best players in free agency already off the board.
As a result, the Titans may very well force themselves into a receiver at No. 11 overall in the 2023 NFL draft, and quite possibly multiple selections at the position when it’s all said and done.
Here’s what general manager Ran Carthon had to say about the team’s search recently:
“We are going to look to address it,” Carthon said, per Jim Wyatt of Titans Online. “We are not trying to fill everything via free agency, but if that’s where the best option comes from, we’ll address it that way. We just have to be patient, and exercise patience and allow that to come to fruition.”
