With the Tennessee Titans falling out of a playoff spot following a five-game losing streak, we can actually peg them to an exact potential draft position in the first round of the 2023 NFL draft.
According to Tankathon, the 7-8 Titans are currently slated to pick 13th. However, depending on what happens with the teams in front of them, Tennessee losing out to finish the season could get them in the top 10.
The only place the Titans can’t get into is the top five, where each team is three or more games worse than Tennessee with two games left to play.
Of course, if the Titans manage to make the playoffs, they’d pick 19 or later depending on how they finish the postseason.
According to Pro Football Network, the Titans have a grand total of six picks in the 2023 NFL draft, with one in each round except for the fourth.
At this point, the Titans are playing for pride. This team isn’t going to make any kind of deep playoff run, so the No. 1 goal is not giving the Jacksonville Jaguars the satisfaction of winning the division after a Titans collapse.
But that would come at the expense of a better draft selection, which isn’t ideal for a team like Tennessee that has a lot of holes to fill. Still, not having to listen to Jaguars fans for an entire offseason would be nice.
