Based on Relative Athletic Score (RAS), the Tennessee Titans came away with some impressive athletes during the 2023 NFL draft.
Offensive tackles Peter Skoronski (9.30) and Jaelyn Duncan (9.01), and wide receiver Colton Dowell (9.78) all scored nine or better out of a possible 10, with Dowell’s (67th) and Skoronski’s (91st) ranking in the top 100 all-time (1987 to 2023) at their respective positions.
Tennessee’s newest tight end, Josh Whyle (8.98), fell just short of nine, while running back Tyjae Spears (7.51) had the lowest score of any Titans draft pick who registered one.
The only Titans pick who didn’t register one was quarterback Will Levis, who didn’t have enough measurements. However, we know from watching Levis at Kentucky that he’s a plus-athlete at the position.
When you take the average of those five scores, it comes out to 8.92, which ranks eighth among all 32 draft classes. The only AFC South team with a better mark was the Indianapolis Colts.
The Colts' draft class – headlined by Anthony Richardson (10.0) and Julius Brents (9.99) – features 9 players with a Relative Athletic Score of at least 9.0. With 12 total players in their class and an average RAS of 9.48, they were clearly out to draft the most athletic players! pic.twitter.com/4QAhBuvjPX

The Titans bringing in one of the more athletic draft classes is no surprise, as head coach Mike Vrabel has stressed getting faster and more athletic.
And doing so was particularly important at wide receiver and along the offensive line, two of Tennessee’s biggest weaknesses. The additions of Skoronski, Duncan and Dowell have the potential to help those causes.
