The Tennessee Titans quietly had one of the more productive and impactful rookie classes last season.
Even though former general manager Jon Robinson’s disastrous decision to move on from A.J. Brown largely overshadowed Tennessee’s promising crop of young talent, the rookie class as a whole was among the best in the league.
Yes, the Titans would probably take that trade back 10-out-of-10 times if they could, but Tennessee’s 2022 rookie class has the potential to ease the wound over time.
Eric Edholm and Nick Shook of NFL.com recently ranked the rookie classes for all 32 teams and they have the Titans coming in at No. 8 on the list. They provide a pretty long write-up, so click the link if you want to read it in full.
Some of the reasonings for the ranking are Treylon Burks’ and Chigoziem Okonkwo’s upside, Roger McCreary’s occasional play-making abilities, Nicholas Petit-Frere’s availability, and Ryan Stonehouse’s massive leg.
I largely agree that this class has a chance to develop into something special over time.
The main two that stand out are Burks and Okonkwo. The two of them have legitimate star-level qualities that can take this passing offense to new heights as long as they can stay on the field together going forward.
Unfortunately, despite the influx of young talent, the Titans still need a lot of work on offense to truly right the ship after a disastrous 2022 season for the unit.
It will be an interesting next couple of months to see how Tennessee’s new general manager, Ran Carthon, goes about improving the overall talent on the roster in his first year at the helm.
