As the search for the missing submarine, Titan, continues a diver who had also experienced being trapped in a submarine while exploring the famous shipwreck became emotional on ITV1 daytime show This Morning. Dr Michael Guillen broke down in tears while talking to Holly Willoughby and Dermot O'Leary on Thursday, June 22.
Able to understand, more than many, what the five people trapped in Titan are feeling, Dr Guillen said they will feel like they are being 'buried alive in a tin can' as the search for them continues. He emotionally recalled his own experience of diving down to The Titanic in a submarine.
He said: "You lose track of time down there, but it was somewhere between a half hour and an hour but it seemed like an eternity. Because every minute you're down there, that you're stuck, and you're literally buried alive in a tin can.

The veteran diver went on to say that he truly feels empathy for the five passengers, including a British billionaire, on board because he knows exactly what they will be feeling at this moment. He said: "I have so much empathy. And to be honest I feel guilty talking about this today, because I was saved, but these people won't be," he added before he broke down in tears.
