An explorer from Dublin has confirmed he is "ok" after five people have gone missing in a Titanic tourist submarine.
Rory Golden is the on-board Titanic expert of this year's OceanGate Expedition which takes paying tourists to view the famous wreck. The Dubliner, who was the first Irish diver to visit the wreckage of the Titanic in 2000, is on board the main ship located in the north Atlantic Ocean, off the coast of Newfoundland.
Five people have been missing since Sunday after a tourist submarine 12,500ft underwater on a Titanic tour lost communication with the mothership just one hour and 45 minutes in the dive. The US Coastguard are in a race against time to find the vessel, which may just have 50 to 70 hours of air left and was just above the shipwreck when communications went down.
