A former pub in Ayr town has been transformed into a vibrant new American diner.
Central Park Ayr has breathed life into the old Boswells bar and serves up an exciting menu of tasty stateside inspired foods.
The diner boasts an authentic American diner feel and is kitted out with black and white checked vinyl flooring, red and cream booths and bright neon signs outside.
Hungry foodies can start their day with American-style breakfasts — including pancakes, streaky bacon and chicken and waffles with maple syrup — which are served up until 12.30pm.
Triple-ground burgers, hot dogs, loaded fries, sharing platters, hot sandwiches, milkshakes and sundaes are also on the menu.
Tracy-Anne McGregor and James Bunten, who also own live events space Venue38 around the corner on Carrick Street and The Anchorage in Dunure, overhauled the premises to bring the family-friendly eatery to life.
Tracy said: “We’ve been open a month now and it’s going really well.
“We completely transformed the place, keeping along with the American diner theme.
“It was a lot of hard work, trials and tears.
“But it looks great, I must admit.
“It’s been a big change from what it was before because the building was a bit of a mess.
“We fixed collapsed floors, sewage pipes which weren’t connected- it was in a bit of a state.”
Tracy, who used to live in Canada and whose daughter lives in South Carolina, wanted to bring a slice of the US to Ayrshire.
She said: “I’ve travelled all over America.
“Canadian breakfasts are very similar to American, so that was the theme I was trying to go for.
“My daughter and her in-laws were over in July and gave us some tips about how to make proper American burgers.”
Tracy and James hope to introduce live music, DJs and themed quizzes next month but say for now they’re focusing on the food.
Central Park Ayr is open everyday from 10am serving food up until 9pm.
