Tips from EuroMillions serial winner that could help results go your way tonight in record jackpot

Irish Euromillions players will be hoping for a major slice of luck on Tuesday evening, as the largest-ever jackpot will go up for grabs.

That's because for the second time in recent months, the top prize has been capped an an incredible €230 million.

It can't get any bigger, but when the jackpot is at its cap, players matching five main numbers and one Lucky Star number can expect bigger prizes.

This is because any money that would have gone into boosting the jackpot, will be shared among players in the next prize tier with winners – most likely players matching the five main numbers plus one Lucky Star number.

But is there a way of guaranteeing success?

Mr Richard Lustig, from the State of Florida, managed to win seven large prizes in state-sponsored lottery games from 1993 to 2010, equalling over $1 million, with his win big strategy.

Unfortunately, Mr Lustig passed away in 2018 but not before he passed on some of his tips in interviews.

Least popular games give you better odds

Lustig insisted that playing the least popular games is the way to go, and his logic is sound.

With fewer people playing alongside you, it increases your chances of winning.

Although the prizes tend to be smaller, it may be a step in the right direction as your odds of winning are higher.

Quick pick is not a quick hit

When speaking to Forbes in the past, Lustig said people should avoid buying a 'quick pick' ticket.

He explained that this method works in number sets, which means every number doesn't have the same amount of luck one would think.

"Every time you buy a quick pick, you get a different set of numbers; therefore, your odds are always going to be at their worst in that particular game," Lustig told Forbes.

Form a syndicate

We've seen plenty of top prizes go to syndicates before - a family syndicate made up of nine siblings from North Dublin won €175 million on the EuroMillions in 2019. They still hold the record for Ireland’s largest ever lottery win with each of the siblings getting €19.4 million.

That could change on Tuesday - and Lusting has said that a syndicate is helpful in more ways than one. The more tickets purchased by the group, the higher the chances of striking gold.

As well as this, it prevents one person from spending an excessive amount of money on tickets.

Know when to stop

At the end of the day, the National Lottery and Euromillions is a form of gambling.

Like all gambling, it is important to know your limits. Everyone wants to win big, but the quest for cash shouldn't cloud your judgement.

If you can afford one ticket a win, great. If you can afford 10, fantastic. It's all down to the individual.

The jackpot will stay at 230 Million Euros for a further four draws until it has to be won in the fifth draw on Friday 22 July.

In a EuroMillions ‘Must Be Won’ draw, if no ticket matches all the five main numbers and two Lucky Stars numbers, the entire jackpot prize will roll down into the prize tier where there is at least one winner.
