Tipping Point viewers have slammed the show for an “outrageous” blunder after host Ben Shephard read out the wrong answer to a trivia question.
Contestants Ben, Diane, Shannon and Ben joined the panel on Tuesday afternoon's episode of the ITV quiz show as they competed to win £10,000.
But eagle-eared fans were outraged when contestant Ben was given a wrong answer during his Q&A.
The Tipping Point hopeful was asked: “In the UK the longest day of the year appears in which month?”
Ben answered “July,” but was corrected by host Ben who told him the answer was actually June.
But alert viewers at home took to Twitter to slam the answer amid claims it was wrong in an “outrageous” error.
One viewer wrote: “Bad question on Tipping Point. The longest day isn’t in June, that’s the longest daylight hours.
"The longest day is when the clocks go back as it’s 25 hours."
Another chimed: “You’re so right! That’s so bad, they should know better!”
A third agreed, adding: “Outrageous really, it’s a trivia show they should check their answers!”
While the “longest day” of the year, the Summer Solstice, sees Brits treated to almost 17 hours of sunlight sometime in June, fans noted that this only accounts for daylight hours and not the longest entire day, which works out longer with daylight savings time.
Elsewhere in the show, Tipping Point viewers threatened to “switch off” in response to a contestant’s “frustrating” habit.
Diane, one of the hopefuls aiming to win big and scoop the £10,000 jackpot, released her counter at unusual moments, leaving many commenting on her release timing on the show.
Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: “If Diane gets to the final round with that crazy timing I’m switching off.”
Another chimed: “God Diane’s timing gives me anxiety” as a third wrote: “Her timing is going to give me an aneurysm.”
A fellow fan chimed: “Diane got me screaming at the tele!” as another viewer posted: “Her timing is bloody awful.”
Another ITV fan tweeted: “Diane is frustrating me massively!!”
Diane made it through to the final two alongside fellow contestant Ben, when she amassed £1,300 while Ben clinched £2,450, meaning she was knocked out in the penultimate round.
Tipping Point airs weekdays at 4pm on ITV.
