Tiny flat with bed in the kitchen goes on the market for £390 a month

If something sounds too good to be true, it often means it is.

A Victorian property in one of London’s exclusive postcodes, West Kensington, has hit the market at the suspiciously low cost of £390 per month.

The issue? It’s minuscule.

The fully furnished bedsit is so tiny that the bed is in touching distance of the kitchen. In fact, it blocks the entire kitchen and prevents the fridge from fully opening.

While it boasts “wooden floors”, there’s not really much to see. Instead, a wardrobe, chest of drawers and a table with one chair covers the space – leaving next-to-no room to stretch your legs.

The flat doesn’t even have space for its own toilet. The tenant will share the bathroom with the other residents in the block.

One eagle-eyed Twitter user came across the listing and called London housing a “joke”.

She said: “Randomly browsing apartments on Zoopla for no reason and I came across this.

“London housing is such a joke.

“I’ve seen jail cells bigger than this [for real].”

The property is being rented out by Space Let with the Zoopla listing reading: “A single bedsit situated within a large Victorian house in-between West Kensington and Baron’s Court stations with lots of amenities in the area.

“Compact studio room furnished with a single bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, small table and chairs.

“Own kitchen with a counter-top cooker and oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, fitted stainless steel sink unit and a range of wall and base units. Shared bathroom with a shower, WC and wash-hand basin.”

According to the listing, the tenants must agree to stay for a minimum of six months.
