Hit dating app Tinder has unveiled a special service aimed at university students. The firm says around 53% of graduates say they met a current or previous partner at university.
While 62% of people say they are still with someone they met while at university. To help them make connections, the company has now launched Tinder Uni so they can connect with fellow students.
The new feature will be found under the 'Tinder Explore' tab. The company says it will make it even easier to connect with someone in halls or even further afield at nearby universities.
It aims to connect to current students using a verified email address from an academic institution. So if you're looking for someone who can match your party stamina or expand your guest list at pre-drinks, it's a chance to meet other students.
Laura Wilkinson-Rea, senior director of communications UK at Tinder, said: “2022 is a record year for students going to university (425.8K to be precise) and with nearly three quarters of 18-25 year olds saying that they’re ready to mingle, it makes Tinder Uni the must-have partner this semester.”
Tinder Uni launches today across the UK and can be accessed by enrolling through the app in just a couple of steps. Here's how:
- Open your Tinder app and tap on your profile icon
- Tap **Edit Profile**
- Scroll down to the **Education** tab to add your university to your profile.
- Once you have added your uni, tap on the option to **Apply for Tinder Uni**
- Enter and verify your student email address (your email needs to ends with ac.uk)
- You’ve officially enrolled to Tinder Uni, your uni’s colours will appear across your profile to show other Tinder members where you study.
