Tina Malone has said she’s been left “broken” after the passing of her husband, Paul Chase, and recounted his final moments.
The 61-year-old actress bid a solemn farewell to her husband, an army veteran, at his funeral last Thursday following his unexpected death last month at the age of 42.
On Tuesday evening, the Shameless star turned to social media to express her grief, confessing that the loss of her husband has left her feeling “bereft.”
Sharing poignant details of his final hours, Malone recounted how he had made breakfast for their daughter Flame, 11, and kissed her goodbye before his passing.
She tweeted: “Four weeks ago at 4pm today my hubby made scrambled eggs, bacon, beans, sausages for Flame, kissed me and said see you later….
“10 hours later he was dead, I am broken, so bereft”.

After sharing her grief, the Brookside star was flooded with condolences and supportive messages from her fans on X, formerly Twitter.
One wrote: “thinking of you in this horrendous time x; So sorry to hear this, sending you love and a big hug. I hope you can take comfort from all the happy memories, and, knowing you are in the thoughts of so many. X”
“Bless you, your daughter and all your family and friends xxx; So sorry Tina ,hopefully soon you will find some comfort from all your happy memories . Big hugs X,” another
A third echoed: “The last thing you remember him doing was an act of love for your child together.”
Chase was laid to rest last week, with a crowd of mourners gathering outside their home in Liverpool, where she joined them and received hugs and comfort from friends and relatives.
Malone married Chase in 2010 and welcomed their daughter, Flame, in 2013 when the actress was 50. She also has an older daughter from a previous relationship.
In 2019, the actress announced that she had split from Chase after 11 years together, but they later rekindled their relationship.
The actress played Mo McGee in soap opera Brookside and Mimi Maguire in comedy Shameless, both broadcast on Channel 4.
She was also a housemate on the sixth series of Celebrity Big Brother in January 2009.
