Saturday Night Live veteran Tina Fey opened the debut episode of the UK version of the long-running US sketch show by admitting she was only hosting because no British celebrities wanted the job.
The premiere, which has received a mixed reception, saw cameos from actor Michael Cera, British chat show royalty Graham Norton and Bridgerton’s Nicola Coughlan, who asked why Fey had been picked as the first host for the UK edition.
“The way it was explained to me was that, for this first episode anyway - how do I put this politely? None of you f***ers would do it,” replied Fey.
