BBC chairman Richard Sharp has resigned from the role following a report by barrister Adam Heppinstall KC found he breached the governance code for public appointments.
Mr Sharp became embroiled in the cronyism row earlier this year after it emerged he helped Boris Johnson secure an £800,000 loan facility.
