Diplomacy continues in a bid to resolve the Ukraine crisis. This Monday, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz went to Kiev to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenksy. This as a ring of Russian troops tightens around Ukraine.
Around 120,000 or more troops are stationed on the eastern Ukraine border overlooking the Donbas, the Russian-speaking region where separatists have been in conflict with Kiev since 2014. Meanwhile, more than a dozen countries – including the UK and the US – have urged their citizens to leave Ukraine, warning that commercial flights may soon not be possible as several airlines have already suspended flights.
Diplomatic staff are being evacuated as well. The United States is pulling out almost all of its staff from the embassy in Kiev, a move echoed by several other Western countries.
Our guests explore the possible outcome of all these diplomatic talks.
