Tim Edwards shares heartfelt item he carries everyday to remember Elle's true legacy

Elle Edwards' dad has shared the item he carries around everyday to remember his daughter's legacy.

Tim Edwards was interviewed by Susanna Reid and Ed Balls on today's edition of Good Morning Britain. He spoke of how he wanted to move forward from his daughter's murder trial after justice was served and gunman, Connor Chapman, was sentenced to a minimum of 48 years in prison for the murder of "wholly innocent" Elle.

Tim has since vowed to never mention his daughter's killer's name out loud as he said: "He's not worthy of my energy. He has no part in my life whatsoever so I don't need to mention his name."

Tim said he now wanted to break the link from the trial and remember his daughter for the way she lived instead of the way it was cruelly taken from her. He issued a heartfelt tribute to Elle as he said: "I remember her laugh.

"She was fun. She would light up a room. That's the thing we try to remember. The fun and caring side." He added: "She was doing what all 26 year old girls should be doing. Living her life. Having a go at succeeding at whatever she was trying to do."

The broadcasters were moved when Tim revealed he always wears a locket of his daughter's hair. He said: "It makes her feel closer because she's with me everywhere I go."

Tim's bravery was hailed by Susanna after his appearance on the ITV news programme as she branded him "a picture of strength". Viewers following the programme on Twitter also took to the social media platform to praise Tim

Lisa said: "What a lovely Dad Tim Edwards is, my heart breaks for him."

Becs said: "I'm tearing up listening to Elle Edwards' Dad... Her killer should never see the light of day."

Jenny added: "Her Dad is broken, yet so composed. What a man"
