Neil McCann has tore into Rangers playmaker Malik Tillman as he labelled aspects of the American international's performance against Liverpool as irredeemable.
The Bayern Munich loanee has been hammered for not working hard enough by the Ibrox hero as Trent Alexander--Arnold and Mo Salah goals sealed a 2-0 win for the Reds in Champions League Group A. It leaves Giovanni van Bronckhorst's Rangers on zero points from three games and has their last 16 hopes all but dashed unless a remarkable turnaround can be sparked..
Good performances from Allan McGregor and Alfredo Morelos have been praised by McCann on Sportsound but Ryan Kent and Tillman in particular have been lamented. He said: "There has to be questions asked of certain players by Van Bronckhorst, we spoke about Tillman. I need to be careful not to go overboard as Liverpool are a good side but I believe Rangers are better than that.

"That was a sobering performance in terms of how far Rangers were off it. That was miles more than a 2-0. Allan McGregor was outstanding, if it wasn't for that man it would have been six. The players won't be kidded by it.
"I thought Morelos worked really hard, I thought Ryan Kent was poor and I thought Malik Tillman was shocking at times, absolutely shocking. His application, I can forgive him for making wrong decisions or passes but I can't forgive him for not trying.
"It looked at times like he wasn't trying and he's already shown that at times. He's got the ability to show he's a top player but you can't just turn it on when you feel like it. It's unacceptable."
