TikToker's 'game changing' product that prevents damp, mould and condensation in your home

A TikTok user has revealed a 'game changing' product he has used to avoid mould, damp and condensation developing in his home. His top tip comes as the colder weather makes condensation more likely to build up around walls and windows.

If left untreated, condensation can lead to damp and mould, which can have a serious impact on people's health. But TikToker @Wilmill19 says he has discovered a hack to stop this from happening, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.

In his video on the social media platform, which has received masses of likes, he said he had a Positive Input Ventilation (PIV) unit installed in his loft, adding that since getting the product, the "mould never returned". The clip then shows him in a Victorian property that he says was previously affected by damp.

"I used to have a dehumidifier and tried all of those little tricks with mould remover. But last winter I installed a PIV unit up in the loft." He said. "It takes filtered air from the loft and just has a constant blast of filtered air that comes out. That slight bit of filtered air will make the house ever so slightly positive pressure and constantly ventilates our house."

PIV units are available for between £297.99 and £399.99, but many people say they are a good investment. Other TikTok users commented on the video to say they are "well worth the price".

@TomC wrote: "We have one of these in our house that had terrible damp in the bedrooms in the winter, we now have zero damp issues, well worth the money." And @GarethNeal20 said: "We have this, with exactly the same result. It is brilliant. The air coming in is 18deg C so cool but not cold. The house always smells fresh too."

One person commented: "My partner installed one in my Victorian house three years ago, it's definitely the best £400 I've ever spent." And a second added: "Had the same issue and installed a PIV unit - no more condensation."

Someone else said: "My partner fitted a PIV in our old stone cottage because our bedroom walls would be dripping in the mornings. GAME CHANGER." And a fourth person wrote: "This is what we fitted, 1930’s built house, terrible damp for years. Been dry as a bone ever since, had it in about 6 years."
