A woman has shared a "game changing" way to scrape ice from car windscreens after 'doing it the wrong way for many years'. With the weather in Britain firmly in winter mode, ice on cars is a common sight in the mornings and evenings.
While there are many home remedies to get ice off quickly, the classic ice scraper is a preferred choice for many. But one woman has admitted that she's not been using it properly - and revealed the most effective way to utilise it.
Taking to TikTok, user @Xdizzylizzy10 posted a clip which has since amassed over 980,000 views, The Mirror reports. She demonstrated how her usual method of using the scraper wasn't as effective as the intended little-known use.

She explained in the clip: "Ice scraping hack I learned on TikTok this morning at 6 o'clock because I couldn't sleep. Why did I not know this?" Sharing the evident difference, Lizzy turned the scraper the other way around to show how the ice quickly shifted off her windscreen - and it made the world of difference.
Hundreds flocked to the comments to share their disbelief at Lizzy's hack. And while many people claimed that they'd never thought of turning their scraper the other way around, several others couldn't believe that the trick had gone unnoticed for all those years.
Alongside an array of shocked-faced emojis, one person penned: "Been driving for 17 years and I just learnt this today, too! Although I just chuck warm water on the windows." Echoing their comments, someone else said: "No! Why did I never know this?"
But others weren't so supportive, with one person exclaiming: "It’s not a hack, it’s just how you’re supposed to use it!" And another said: "Figuring out the correct way to use something is not a hack, but congrats anyway."
