In an unlikely turn of events, TikTok sensation Nathan Evans has teamed up with Doctor Who to release a sea shanty for an upcoming episode.
Doctor Who: Legend of the Sea Devils airs Sunday night, as the former postie turned sea shanty hitmaker pens a catchy tune about the 'devils of the deep'.
Teasers for the Doctor Who special show Yaz, played by Mandip Gill, and Dan, played by John Bishop, tied up on what looks like the sea monsters boat and other shots of Yaz wielding a huge sword.
The upcoming Easter Sunday special is a bittersweet episode for fans of the BBC sci-fi show, as it is Jodie Whittaker's penultimate episode before she steps down her role as the Doctor.
However, just as fans are excited for the new episode they also couldn't get enough of Nathan Evan's crossover, as one described the unlikely pairing as a 'dream come true'.
One wrote: "Omg! I LOVE THIS! THIS IS A DREAM COME TRUE! I was wanting a doctor who parody of this! This is amazing!"
"That is brilliant!! Should be released ...really enjoyed it. Excellent," another said.
A third agreed: "Amazing Nathan! Your a real star!"
A fourth wrote: "My kiddos loves this song and the 2 years old scream if i stop the music"
"Brilliant! Congratulations for connecting with @bbcdoctorwho!!!," praised another.
The official synopsis for the instalment states: "This episode finds the Doctor, Yaz, and Dan in 19th century China, where a small coastal village is under threat – from both the fearsome pirate queen Madame Ching (Crystal Yu) and a monstrous alien force which she unwittingly unleashes."
It continues: "Will the Doctor, Yaz and Dan emerge from this swashbuckling battle with the Sea Devils to save the planet?"
Doctor Who returns to BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 7:10pm on Sunday 17th April.
