Scientology is weaker now than it’s been in decades. Membership has been in steep decline since its height in the 1990s, from around 100,000 members globally to around 20,000-30,000 today.
Much of that’s due to the massive negative publicity against the church, with multiple movies and documentaries exposing their secrets, showcasing their intimidation tactics, and throwing light on the sinister activities of their leaders. As such, their membership is rapidly aging, with any younger members born into the church rather than signing up.
