A TikTok doctor has revealed the reason hot weather seems to affect people more in the UK than abroad - claiming it is because we moan about it.
Dr Karan Rajan shares advice and tips on everything from penis length to constipation through his channel to his near five million followers.
In his latest video he tackles an issue practically everyone can relate to as the mercury continues to hover around 30C, feeling warmer than trips to foreign climbs.
Dr Rajan says our homes were not designed for the intense heat.
He also added Brits just like to complain more.
He said in the video: “Why does the heat in the UK feel even hotter than when you're abroad?
“30 degrees in the UK feels like 50 somewhere else and it feels like you're melting.
“The UK can get pretty humid which means that sweat doesn't evaporate as quickly meaning the human body finds it harder to keep cool and we get these hot tropical nights where the temperature doesn't dip so we actually don't get a break from the heat.
“Also because it's cold most of the year, the buildings in the UK are designed to keep heat in compared to hotter countries.
“The average person in the UK does not have air con and because Brits like to complain about everything.”
One viewer replied: “This is absolutely true… we do like to complain about everything.”
“Bro the roads are melting and we can’t complain,” another one wrote.
Someone else quipped: “It’s because when you are 40 degrees somewhere else you are on holidays and probably going to the beach and pool, not going to work.”
“I do enjoy complaining, it has to be said.”
Someone else said: “I'm currently in Borneo on a trekking expedition, I'll never complain about the heat in the UK again.”
It comes as the UK’s chief meteorologist says the country is entering into scary, uncharted waters as we are hit by a second massive heatwave this year.
Met Office boss Paul Davies fears a 35C heatwave such as the one we are baking under this week, may now occur once every five years and annually by the end of the century.
And the history-making 40C experienced last month, which caused homes to burn down, our runways to melt and railways to buckle, could hit the UK every three years in 77 years.
“That’s a staggering number,” Mr Davies, a world-leading expert in meteorology, told The Mirror.
Talking about our changing climate and the brutal 40C seen in Lincolnshire on July 19, he said: “I knew it was possible but to see it unfold in reality is quite scary.”
