Tiger Woods is $8 million richer after his win in the PGA Tour’s new Player Impact Program, which rewards golfers for their popularity based on certain sets of criteria.
The second-place finisher? That would be Phil Mickelson.
The funny thing is, Lefty thought he had won it back in December and tweeted that he had claimed victory. But it turned out he was wrong since some of the metrics needed time to be sorted out.
So that’s the route Woods took on Wednesday after the win: A screenshot of Mickelson’s tweet with one word and two emojis. Some Grade-A trolling right here:

P.S. I’ll try and find another hot controversial topic soon👍— Phil Mickelson (@PhilMickelson) December 29, 2021
Got him. And maybe Woods just locked up the 2022 award with that tweet.
