Tiger Woods refuses a lawful test after DUI arrest, so ofcourse Donald Trump had to call him an ‘amazing person, amazing man’

Tiger Woods just faced another “setback” as golf fans were anticipating an unprecedented return to The Masters for the five-time winner. Woods was driving on Jupiter Island at around 2 p.m. Friday, on South Beach Road, when he rolled over his car and got arrested. As the story of the DUI begins to take on a life of its own, President Donald Trump is already coming to the defense of his longtime friend.

This is not Woods’ first car crash. In fact, the only thing Woods is known for more than DUIs at this point in his career is his seven back surgeries. Reportedly, these two aspects of his life are actually the reason why Woods rolled over his car in the middle of the day.

Woods was expected to make a comeback at The Masters on Apr. 9, so this arrest was big news in the golf-loving town of Jupiter. So much so that Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek had to hold a press conference about the arrest.

The sheriff first made it clear that nobody was harmed in the accident. Budensiek also told the press that officers never believed Woods was under the influence of alcohol. But he did seem inebriated at the scene, so they took Woods back to the station and ran a few tests. Woods was reportedly sober, but he refused to have his urine tested — which is his legal right, as many have already pointed out. He is, however, now facing DUI charges.

The refusal to take the urine test has already set social media buzzing. Woods’ recovery had been seen as remarkable, and even the sheriff said Woods claimed he lost control due to “unexpected” aftereffects of his pain medication. But on social media, the entire previous week had already been filled with skepticism about that recovery.

Trump has always been close to Woods, so it didn’t take long before the president weighed in on the latest celebrity fodder. With everything else on his plate, Trump still found some empathy for his friend, telling reporters, “I feel so badly. He’s got some difficulty. There was an accident, and that’s all I know.”

Even Trump seems to understand that when it comes to appreciating Woods’ sporting prowess, the less you know about his personal life, the more you can enjoy it. Recently, the two even took a step closer to becoming distant family. Woods is dating Vanessa Trump, the mother of Trump’s seemingly most famous grandchild, Kai Trump.

The golf superstar joining the Trump family isn’t all that surprising either. At this point, Trump is practically a Florida native. For years, he and Woods have played golf together socially, and a kinship has grown. During Trump’s first term, at the height of his unpopularity, Woods was the one who had his back, telling reporters, “He’s the President of the United States. You have to respect the office. No matter who is in the office, you may like or dislike the personality or politics, but we all must respect the office.”

Woods should just get a driver at this point.
