Tiger Woods has announced he has undergone surgery and looks likely to miss the remainder of the 2023 season which will cast doubts about his future in professional golf.
Woods has played in five events since his horror car crash and today announced he went under the knife for a subtalar fusion procedure.
Taking to social media, a statement was released saying: "Earlier today, Tiger underwent a subtalar fusion procedure to address his post-traumatic arthritis from his previous talus fracture.
"It was performed by Dr. Martin O'Malley at HSS Sports Medicine Institute in New York City. He has determined the surgery to be successful.
"Tiger is currently recovering and looks forward to beginning his rehabilitation."
The surgery and recovery will likely see the 15-time major winner sidelined for the rest of 2023 and questions will be asked if the legendary golfer can make a return after his latest injury setback.
