Tiffany's ode to New York City

People may overlook the beauty of a rugged chain-link fence but its diamond-like motif relates well to Tiffany & Co, which has been based in New York since 1837.

Today the chain-link fences characterise the streets of The Big Apple, and the legendary jewellery house pays tribute to its hometown with the new Tiffany Knot collection inspired by the architectural symbol.

In a city that commands strength of character and an unspoken understanding of one another, New Yorkers are individualists who together are also part of something larger. "Making it" in New York demands a strong sense of self and a certain state of mind, which is the spirit behind the subversive and audacious Tiffany Knot collection.

The jewellery reflects the exacting standards that drive Tiffany's constant search for innovations in craftsmanship, rigour of form and precision of proportions.

The familiar industrial shape has been transformed into modern and refined jewellery with the signature graphic knot motif. The entwined ends form a knot, symbolising the power of connections between people.

The design is an interplay of opposites, with smooth organic forms contrasting striking jagged angles on bracelets, rings, necklaces, pendants and earrings.

The 18k yellow and rose gold pieces and pavé diamond iterations feature the sleek curves of precious metal and pointed edges that add sharp dimensionality.

The double-wrap choker is hand set with over 300 diamonds, instilling the design with movement and scale. On bracelets with a double-wrap effect, the 18k gold knot conceals the clasp, making it appear as one continuous, connected design.
