The Nottingham Robin Hood Beer and Cider Festival is set to return to Trent Bridge Cricket Ground. The event will start on Wednesday, October 12, until Saturday, October 15.
The CAMRA event is one of the biggest beer festivals in the city with many breweries taking part to offer specialist beers and ciders. There will also be plenty of food on offer from some of the city's best street food vendors.
The festival can get extremely busy with more than 14,000 people expected to attend. And we've put together a helpful guide to the event with some useful information.
How to get there?
Trent Bridge Cricket Ground is accessible from the city centre by foot, bus or taxi. It is located in West Bridgford near the Nottingham Forest or Notts County football grounds.
There are frequent buses to and from cricket ground with stops situated in Bridgford Road, Radcliffe Road and Loughborough Road. Buses pass Nottingham Railway Station every few minutes. The cricket ground is a short drive from the city centre or around a 34-minute walk, depending on the pace.
How much are the tickets?
Tickets are available through the Robin Hood Beer festival website and are already on sale. Visitors need to select the time slot or day they wish to visit which will mean different prices.
Tickets start at £12 which provides visitors with nine tokens which can be used for three half pints of most beers or ciders. A complimentary glass is provided which can be kept after the event.
There are also hospitality beer festival experiences available from £45 which include reserved seating, four bowl food dishes with expertly paired beers and a guided tour of Trent bridge.
CAMRA members will be able to claim a further three beer tokens. Festival fans are encouraged to get their tickets ahead of time although some will be available on the day. However, the team does warn there may be queues as thousands are expected to attend.
What entrance do I use for the festival?
There will be only one entrance open for the festival on Bridgford Road.
What food is on offer?
There will be plenty of food on offer from local foodie favourites. Visitors will be able to pair their pint with dishes from MemSaab Indian cuisine to Romano Burgers, Thai Street Food, Big Cheese Melts, Delilah's Fine Foods, Jukebox Cafe and Emma Thompson cobs.
There will be vegan and veggie options too with veggie pies and Surano vegan foods on offer. Nothing beats a good packet of crisps with a pint so cider fans will be happy to note that Just Crisps will be in attendance.
What beers are at the festival?
This is one of the largest selections of real ales and beer styles including New England IPAs, American Imperial Stouts, Berliner style Weiss beers, Sours and Saisons. There will be plenty of classical styles and old favourites available on the day too.
Brewery bars representing Castle Rock, Blue Monkey, Navigation Brewery, Nottingham Brewery, Lenton Lane and Shipstone’s will be available along with stillages of quality real ales from local brewers. There will also be bars serving gin, prosecco and wine along with a selection of gluten-free beers.
When it comes to the ciders, local favourites such as Sneinton Cider company will be attending but there will also be plenty of Welsh beers along with some from Cambridge, Kent, Devon and Dorset.
Do beer festival traders accept cash or cards?
This year's festival will be cashless as the organisers are mindful of concerns over cash handling. Therefore only card payments will be accepted.
Where can I park?
While driving is not encouraged at a beer festival, designated drivers will have to head into West Bridgford to find a space. There are a number of buses and taxis that can be used to help visitors avoid the need for driving.
Vegan beers and Ciders?
There will be a number of vegan alternatives available at the festival. Many beers will not be fined (or cleared) using isinglass, this will be marked on the cask and clearly marked in the programme available on the day.
Will there be non-alcoholic drinks available?
There will be non-alcoholic drinks available at the Sound Bar at Trent Bridge which is adjacent to the main beer marquee. Some of the food vendors will also have the option of soft drinks and there will be drinking water taps dotted around the concourses.
