Weather experts have issued a warning after a thunderstorm is set to strike in Ayrshire today.
Met Office boffins put in place the yellow alert from 12 noon today until 9pm this evening.
The news comes as a bitter blow to thousands heading to Ayr for the STREETrave festival at Ayr's Low Green later this afternoon.
At the moment, festival organisers say "the site is ideal underfoot, no mud whatsoever. Trainers are 100 per cent fine."
However, forecasters reckon "heavy showers and thunderstorms may cause some disruption and flooding" throughout this afternoon and on to this evening.
The warning reads: "Heavy showers and thunderstorms over Northern Ireland are expected to spread into parts of southern Scotland later this afternoon before fading later this evening.
"Whilst some places will see little rainfall, a few places could see 30 to 35 mm of rain in two or three hours, perhaps most likely over northern and eastern parts of Northern Ireland.
"In addition to heavy rainfall, a few places may also see some hail."
Scotland's Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) has also issue a flood alert for the region too.
The alert states: "A flood alert has been issued for Ayrshire and Arran.
"Thundery showers throughout Sunday afternoon into evening could cause flooding impacts from surface water. Particularly at risk are urban areas and the transport network.
"There may be difficult driving conditions. Due to the localised nature of the showers, impacts may be isolated, with not all locations being affected.
"Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property. Advice and information is also available through Floodline on 0345 9881188.
"This FLOOD ALERT is now in force until further notice and was sent by phone and sms free of charge to registered customers of our Floodline direct warning service.
