A prison inmate who was jailed after a brutal assault on a man in Hamilton has died behind bars, the Scottish Prison Service has confirmed.
Paul McEwan Lindsay was jailed for seven years in 2019 after he was convicted of assaulting George Bell to the danger of his life at Kelvin Gardens on June 24, 2018.
The 31-year-old died at HMP Addiewell in West Lothian last week. Police Scotland have been notified and his death will be probed in a Fatal Accident Inquiry, the Daily Record reports.
