A thug left his former partner's lip "hanging like a flap" after violently striking her three times to the face.
Just months prior Phillip McGlinchey, 31, had put his arms round her neck until she could not breathe and hit her head off of a kitchen bench causing her nose to "pop".
Newcastle Crown Court heard how McGlinchey had committed the frightening offences while the pair were in a relationship, Chronicle Live reports.
