Thug delivery driver left victim with broken orbital bone after Hamilton attack

A man suffered a broken bone near his eye when he was attacked by a delivery driver in Hamilton.

Tomas Vazgys, 41, was fined £400 at Hamilton Sheriff Court this week.

He admitted assaulting the victim outside Spice of Life in Gateside Street on July 10 last year.

The court heard that Vazgys, of Park Holme Court, Hamilton, became involved in an argument with the man and a female.

He got out of a vehicle and made his way towards them.

The argument continued and Vazgys lashed out, striking his victim on the face and bursting his nose.

He was taken to hospital where an x-ray showed a fracture to the orbital flow bone.

Defence agent Jackson Bateman produced a letter of reference from his client's boss at the takeaway.

Mr Bateman added: "He's in a position to pay a significant fine."
