A drug-fuelled brute beat up his girlfriend then ordered her to tell police officers she hurt herself tripping over a Hoover.

Barry Jackson also threatened to attack the woman with a machete, Hamilton Sheriff Court heard.

Jackson, 31, admitted assaulting his girlfriend at his home in Glencleland Road, Craigneuk, on November 14 last year.
