A thug attacked a woman and her daughter in a drunken rage, before threatening to stab her son.
Jonathan Wood, 33, had stayed over at the victims’ home in the Deane area of Bolton on September 25, 2021.
Wood, of Rowena Street, Farnworth, had been drinking with the woman and she fell asleep on the sofa, prosecution counsel Stacey Morrow told Bolton Magistrates’ Court.

She was woken up by an argument before Wood hit her to the side of the face.
During the argument with the woman’s son, Wood said he was going to ‘stab him up’ and threatened to kill him, the court heard.
Wood then pushed past the woman and headed upstairs to her daughter, before pulling the girl's hair.
The woman’s son then jumped out of a bedroom window to get help and a neighbour came to the house.
The man told Wood to ‘stop’ and that the police were on the way but Wood walked towards him in an aggressive manner.
He continued to tell Wood to calm down but he carried on being aggressive, the court heard.
Wood also admitted to damaging two ornaments belonging to the woman during the incident.
On the day of his trial, he pleaded guilty to two counts of assault by beating, two counts of common assault and criminal damage to property valued under £5,000.
Defending, Darin Millar said that Wood was ‘very drunk’ at the time of the incident and ‘remembers very little’.
Mr Millar added that the threats to stab the woman’s son and kill him were ‘more in frustration and anger’.
Being sentenced at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court, Wood was handed a 20-week prison sentence suspended for 18 months, along with a nine-month alcohol treatment plan and 30 days in a rehabilitation programme.
He was also given a two-year restraining order against the victims of his offences and ordered to pay a total of £528 in victim surcharge and court costs.
