Friends and family of three women and two men are appealing for help to find them after they went missing following a night out in the early hours of Saturday, March 4. Their families have not heard from them since and are growing desperately worried.
Sophie Russon, 20, Eve Smith, 21, and Darcy Ross, 21, who are all from Newport, were at the Muffler bar and club in Maesglas in Newport on Friday evening before friends believe they headed to Trecco Bay in Porthcawl with Shane Loughlin, 32, and Rafel Jeanne-Actie, 24, who are also missing.
Relatives of the three women said none of them have been seen or heard from since 2am on Saturday when they were seen in the Llanedeyrn area of Cardiff, and none of them have been active on social media.
A Gwent Police spokesperson said: "We’re appealing for information to find Sophie Russon, 20, Eve Smith, 21, and Darcy Ross, 21, all from Newport, who have been reported as missing. The three women were last seen on Saturday, March 4, at about 2am in the Llanedeyrn area of Cardiff.
"They had travelled there from Porthcawl in a VW Tiguan, registration number VE64 YLB, with two men. These two men from Cardiff, Rafel Jeanne, 24 and Shane Loughlin, 32, have also been reported as missing.
"Anyone with any information on their whereabouts is asked to call us on 101 or send us a direct message on social media, quoting 2300071791. All five are also urged to get in touch with us to confirm that they are safe and well."
Ms Smith’s car is still at the Muffler club according to her sister Lauren Doyle. In a post Ms Doyle said: “It is known that they went to the Muffler in Maesglas and then went to Trecco Bay on Friday night but left there to an unknown location during the night. They were last seen at approximately 2am.
“None of them have made contact with friends or family, which is very unusual. We are all worried sick and thinking the worst.”
Family and friends of all five people have posted on social media to share pictures of them in a plea for help.
A spokesperson for Trecco Bay Holiday Park said: “We are aware of reports of five missing people. None of these people were registered guests at the park, however we are assisting police with their enquiries.”
