Three women among 4 held for abducting infant from west Delhi

NEW DELHI: Four people, including three women, were arrested for kidnapping an infant from west Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh, police said on Sunday.

Police said on Friday, a woman filed a complaint that her 45-days-old girl was kidnapped from her hut by one Bhawna who lives in Punjabi Bagh. Deputy commissioner of police (west) Ghanshyam Bansal said the cops discovered several people were involved in the abduction.

“We have arrested four people, including three women in the case from different parts of the city,” DCP said.

The accused were identified as Bhawna (28), Rekha Jain (50), Babita Jain (38) and Pawan (29). Bhawna told cops that she had several miscarriages, so she decided to kidnap the infant to become a mother. “She made a plan with three acquaintances,” the officer said. TNN
