A parent who’s son was diagnosed with sepsis when he was just three-weeks-old has said he "is never going to get better".
Mum, Lucy Shields, has shared her son Roman’s story to help raise awareness of the deadly disease, which has left the now two-year-old with life-changing conditions.
Roman defied the odds to beat sepsis as a newborn but he was left with brain damage, he is unable to walk, is fed through a tube and has epilepsy, as well as a number of other medical conditions.
