Three things you can do for free to clear up your skin

If you're into your beauty tips and skincare you'd have definitely heard of Liz Earle. The Liz Earle Beauty company brand started back in 1995 when Liz Earle, an author and botanical beauty authority, and Kim Buckland, a skincare industry expert, came together to found one of the now best-selling beauty brands.

Having been disappointed with the skincare products available, they decided it was time to create their own products. Even though Liz and Kim are no longer associated with Liz Earle Beauty Co, Ms Earle still shares her beauty and wellbeing tips with her thousands of followers on Instagram, and she recently shared some brilliant tips that will help people of all ages.

The lesson in skincare is how to get clearer skin and - according to Ms Earle - there are "three tenets of skincare". What's better is they are all things you can do to help treat your skin and they won't cost you a penny.

Here are the three tips Liz shared on Instagram that will aid you to achieving much clearer skin.

Plenty of sleep

The beauty expert wrote "it’s not called beauty sleep for nothing", so it's important to get your kip to keep your skin in good shape. She said you should aim to get between 7.5 hours and 8.5 hours every night to help maintain good skin.

Drink lots of water

Ms Earle also said water is very important when it comes to maintaining healthy and clear skin. She said it's always good to drink more than you think you may need. Recently she said she has been drinking between two and three litres a day.

Keep on moving

One of the best ways to treat the skin? Movement. Ms Earle said it's important to move the body "to increase circulation and blood flow", and she said it's even better when you exercise outside.

The beauty expert says exercising at least twice a day is a sensible aim. She advises doing so first thing in the morning as well as before and after lunch.

Not to mention she said "walking works", and she said that's all that's needed to aid healthy looking skin.

What else can I do?

Ms Earle claims that doing all three of these things can make such a difference to your skin, and she added investing in good skincare products and treatments can help too. Writing on Instagram, she said: "My current faves are azelaic acid (good for sunspots and rosacea), niacinamide (helps with clarity) and retinol (our pro-ageing friend), plus my @cellreturn.uk LED/NIR face mask, but these are but nothing without the first three."
