Three things we spotted at Celtic training as Kyogo ready for crunch Rangers Viaplay Cup final

Celtic face Aberdeen at the weekend with the hope that preparations for Rangers in the Viaplay Cup final will go swimmingly.

The Hoops last outing at Hampden against their bitter rivals did not go to plan when extra time saw Gio Van Bronckhorst's men knock Ange Postecoglou's side out of the Scottish Cup semi-final. It was the only trophy that alluded Celtic domestically as they look to stay on course for a potential clean sweep this season aided by a nine-point gap at the top.

And while all eyes may be on Hampden's final next week, Glasgow Live Sport took a look at how the Hoops are gearing up to face an Aberdeen side trying to regain form.

Kyogo and Ange embrace

Kyogo Furuhashi sparked injury concerns at the wrong time for Celtic last week.

The Japanese forward who has contributed more than 20 goals this season went down with a shoulder knock against St Mirren in the Scottish Cup and many from a Parkhead perspective feared the worst for crucial games including next Sunday's final.

But the 27-year-old has taken part in Hoops training and looks to be fighting fit ahead of the showpiece final. Whether or not he makes Saturday's Aberdeen clash remains to be seen with new boy Hyeon-gyu Oh a possibility to start.

Oh and Tony race

One thing that seems evident at Celtic is the team spirit around the club.

It was something Postecoglou alluded to in his somewhat-infamous 'we never stop' speech on the final day last season. And while many new faces have arrived there seems to be a camaraderie around Lennoxtown.

Saturday's preparations saw Hyeon-gyu Oh, who already has his first goal in Glasgow, seemingly run a race with Anthony Ralston. While the two stars may have been born thousands of miles apart there is a close connection between teammates.

The Scot seems to be teasing his South Korean mate with the mood in the camp looking healthy.

Don't you forget about Bernabei

Alexandro Bernabei is a name not often mentioned much within the realms of Celtic.

The young Argentine - the first from his nation to play for the Hoops - has had an up and down spell so far in Glasgow with little to show for his £3million plus transfer fee thus far.

Not aided by the fact that Greg Taylor, the number one left-back, is one of Postecoglou's most-improved players over his tenure and that has limited the 21-year-old's chances.

But Bernabei continues to train well it seems and will be hoping Postecoglou takes note when his chance comes.
