Rangers emerged victorious in their latest pre-season friendly away to English Championship side Blackpool, winning 2-1.
Conversation was sparked pre-match as Calvin Bassey was left out the Light Blues squad amid several reports that Ajax and Brighton have shown serious interest in the £25 million-rated defender. They carried on without him and Borna Barisic opened the scoring from left-back after first half proceedings brought no goals. There was also a chance for new signings Antonio Colak, Rabbi Matondo, John Souttar and Tom Lawrence to experience an away day at their new club as the Ibrox side brought thousands with them to this friendly.
It was an improvement on their last friendly against Sunderland in Portugal, which was cancelled due to floodlight failure, and boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst will be thankful his men managed to get a full match under their belts. Charlie McCann added a second for the Light Blues to cap off their scoring. Beryly Lubala scored for Blackpool.
