Three things we learned as Celtic debut Bhoy Moritz Jenz passes Dingwall intro with flying colours

Champions Celtic overcame a tricky test in Dingwall as they made it two wins from two with a late 3-1 win over Ross County.

Ange Postecoglou's men got off the mark in the defence of the Premiership crown they won back from Rangers last season with a 2-0 win over Aberdeen and they made it back-to-back league triumphs thanks to goals from Kyogo Furuhashi, debut Bhoy Moritz Jenz and Liel Abada against the Staggies.

The Hoops have the luxury of no European qualifiers this summer as they gained direct entry to the Champions League group stages following their league title win last term with all focus currently on domestic matters unlike their Old Firm rivals who face midweek encounters in their bid to join the Hoops at Europe's top table. Kilmarnock and Hearts are next up for Celtic following today's triumph.

Here are three things we learned as the Hoops grab another late win in Dingwall.

Strength and depth

Key man Reo Hatate missed out on this once after injury against Aberdeen with David Turnbull his replacement.

At the back Carl Starfelt was fit enough to claim a spot on the bench after injury and despite missing Stephen Welsh - who slotted in beside Cameron Carter-Vickers last week - the Hoops weren't weakened Jenz handed his debut in Dingwall and he netted the crucial second.

The likes of Giorgos Giakoumakis, James Forrest, Anthony Ralston, Abada and Aaron Mooy all started on the bench in a decision that shows the strength and experience on offer to the Scottish champions this campaign.

Up for a fight

Dingwall is always notoriously a difficult place for Celtic and Rangers to go and get all three points.

The Light Blues dropped points at the Staggies last term while Ralston netted a last-gap winner which was still talked about in the build-up to today's showdown as a key moment in the the Hoops' season last term.

It is very, very early days but once again this win could prove to be a vital three points down the line.

Celtic play some brilliant, attractive football under Postecoglou - but they can also show their battling credentials and grind out results.

County pegged the Hoops back through Alex Iacovitti following Furuhashi's opener but they showed that fighting spirit to secure the win late on through Jenz as he headed home with just six minutes left on the clock and Abada put the icing on the cake to make it 3-1 in added time.

Back in the goals

Furuhashi made an instant impact at Celtic last season as he hit 20 goals in an injury disrupted campaign.

He instantly installed himself as a fans' favourite following his arrival from Vissel Kobe in Postecoglou's first season.

And he is off the mark this season as he fired home following good work from Jota.

Can he hit the magic 20 mark again this season?

One down. 19 to go.
