KOLKATA: Jose Molina insisted on Friday that his Mohun Bagan SG project is new and would take time to take shape. If the team's abject 0-3 surrender at Bengaluru FC last week raised a crisis call, their response to it was almost immaculate, now brushing aside Mohammedan Sporting 3-0 at the Salt Lake Stadium on Saturday.
Mohun Bagan killed the game as a contest in the first half itself. Jamie Maclaren made his first start of the season memorable, opening the floodgates with an eighth-minute header. Subhasish Bose won another aerial challenge to make it 2-0 in the 31st minute and a sumptuous strike from Greg Stewart five minutes later completed the job for the reigning Shield winners in the first 45 minutes itself.
